Observe wood diseases
In the spring the sap is flowing through pruning wounds . This corresponds to the entry into operation of the root system.
The wounds show perfectly the diseased woods. Development of certain fungi may take several seasons. The vines are then destined to die but only careful observation of the wood can predict it: with a walk in the vineyard at the end of winter can help you to predict the health of the vine.
